Drawing challenge Day 4
Day 4 - Underwater
This prompt immediately brought to mind a mural that used exist in my neighbourhood. It wasn't a mermaid but a swimmer but I didn't remember it clearly. This is the first piece that I did use a reference, I found an old photo of the mural someone posted on a blog and started mixing the image I'd built in my mind with the actual image that used to exist.
A story ran in the local paper for anyone who wants to know how the mural came to it's end

Drawing Challange day 3
Day 3 - POISON
Couldn't think of a day 2 drawing so skipping it
The first thing that came to mind was the poison apple from snow white. I couldn't remember exactly how that scene goes but I know the apple does at least one transformation before it settles on being a beauty. I wanted a half skull, half apple idea.
Drawing that first apple I realized I had no idea how to draw a skull or how to do perspective, not wanting to copy another piece of art I started to feel my head and face and doodling skulls

Drawing Challange Start
A small explanation in case I or someone else looks at the next few posts in a few years time and question "What's going on here?"
I found out about Inktober mid way through the month in question and decided I should improve my drawing skills, Starting the follwing month (November) I am using the drawing prompts from the challenge as a starting point and improving my doodling skills.
If I miss a day I plan to just skip it because I've seen my friend burn out trying to catch up.
I'm using a simple fisher space pen and basic sketch book (that I bought over a year prior to improve my drawing skills and then never used)
DAY 1 - SWIFT
The first thing that came to mind was a jumbled mess of Disney movies and a scene that I think is from Hercules where Herc skips stones. The music playing in my mind during this scene is from Mulan, I've got to rewatch some of these movies and separate my memory of events.
I didn't want to recreate another persons art piece and I was rusty so I decided not to look up any reference material and see how things went.
I did end up looking at my hand to see what hands look like. Hands are hard.
I may add a better photo in the future but better than nothing

Dart Case mk.1
This is a dart case I'm making for my mother, she recently was gifted a set that did not include a case. I decided to gift her a case.
This is a work in progress, it doesn't have a manner to close it and it is a thin leather, nice stuff but structurally flimsy. I am going to add method to keep it closed as well as adding a tooled veg tan panel to stiffen it and add some class and personalization (not that having a custom case isn't personal)
In the future I will create a page explaining how veg tan differs from other types of common leather.
